HAPPY NEW YEAR NEWS 2025
Hello and welcome to the AAHC website,
The AAHC Planning Committee would like to thank those of you who attended our annual Almost New Years Eve party on December 28th. What a wonderful time we had as we closed out the old year with friends and family. Because of you, our efforts were once again successful. Thank you! Your support is always appreciated.
We begin 2025 with the celebration of Black History Month (BHM) and our 2nd annual Black History Film Festival. These selections include SELMA, a movie that chronicles Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s historic struggle to secure voting rights for all people (February 6); GET ON UP, a 2014 American biographical musical film of James Brown’s rise from extreme poverty to become one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century (February 12); and, DEVOTION, an aerial war epic based on the bestselling book of the same name. It tells the harrowing true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots (one black/one white) during the Korean War, who risk their lives and become the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen (February 18).
All films begin at 3:00 p.m. sharp in Freedom Hall. Tickets ($10) are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking the link(s) below or through the Activities Office. We solicit your support and look forward to seeing you in the theatre.
